Rankings are based on CMS quality stars and HHCAHPS patient survey data — not advertising spend. Agencies with stronger patient outcomes appear higher in search results.
Transparency
How rankings work
CMS assigns each Medicare-certified home health agency a Quality of Patient Care star rating based on a composite of process and outcome measures drawn from OASIS assessments. These ratings are publicly available and updated quarterly.
HHCAHPS (Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) surveys collect feedback directly from patients about their care experiences — including communication, professionalism, and whether they'd recommend the agency. We surface both the star rating and key percentage metrics so families can see the full picture.
We display these percentage metrics — such as "% of patients who reported the agency communicated well" — because raw survey data gives a more nuanced view than a single aggregate star. Families deserve to see what patients actually said.
